Retrofit web guiding · United States

Keep strip centered before it reaches your process.

Avenor reviews retrofit web guiding systems that measure material position and adjust the decoiler to help maintain center alignment on existing coil processing lines.

One retrofit concept. Evaluated against your line.

01

Slitting lines

Review centering at the decoiler feeding the slitter.

02

Cut-to-length lines

Assess strip position as material enters the CTL process.

03

Coil polishing and finishing

Check whether decoiler movement can support tracking into the finishing section.

04

Other continuous strip lines

Review line geometry, controls and mechanical arrangement before confirming fit.

The system is intended for continuous strip processes with a suitable decoiler or guiding mechanism. Coil storage, cranes and transport equipment are not assumed to be compatible.

Start at the material path and the existing machine.

The retrofit is reviewed around the installed line, operating conditions and controls. Avenor confirms the engineering basis before defining scope, price and schedule.

01

Measure

Measuring bars read material width and position relative to the line center.

02

Display and set

The PLC and HMI present position, width, operating status and alarms.

03

Adjust

The control system commands decoiler movement through the approved hydraulic interface.

04

Commission

Installation, startup and acceptance criteria are defined for the specific project.

From strip measurement to automatic correction.

The diagrams illustrate the sensing and decoiler-positioning concept. Final controls, HMI language, mechanical interfaces and performance criteria are engineered and branded for each AVENOR project.

Performance is defined against the customer’s line.

AVENOR does not publish a single universal rating for a retrofit system. Compatibility, correction travel, accuracy and response are confirmed after reviewing the installed machine and operating range.

Material range
Confirmed from customer coil and strip data
Width and thickness
Engineered for the verified operating envelope
Line speed
Reviewed with dynamics, sensor response and actuator travel
Centering performance
Defined through measurable project acceptance criteria
Mechanical interface
Verified against decoiler base, travel and available space
Controls interface
Integrated with the approved PLC, safety and hydraulic architecture

Final compatibility and performance depend on line layout, material, speed, available space, mechanical condition, hydraulics and controls.
